Alumni Service Award 2026

Event Summary
#

Receiving the Alumni Service Award from Sri Eshwar College of Engineering in 2026 is one of the most meaningful recognitions of my journey. More than an award, it represents the relationship I continue to share with the institution that played an important role in shaping who I am today.

Sri Eshwar College of Engineering has never felt like just a place where I completed my education. It has always felt like home. The classrooms, faculty, friends, campus, and countless experiences from my college days continue to influence the way I approach technology, leadership, learning, and community building.

This journey has also extended beyond my alma mater. Through my involvement with technology communities, including Tamilnadu JUG, Bangalore Java User Group, and the broader open-source ecosystem, I have had the privilege of organizing and contributing to meetups, hackathons, technical discussions, mentorship programs, and collaborative initiatives.

My Contribution / Learnings
#

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to return to the institution not just as an alumnus, but as a mentor, speaker, community builder, and contributor. I have conducted and participated in technical sessions, interacted with students, supported hackathons and community initiatives, shared industry experiences, and helped create opportunities for students to connect with professionals and the wider technology ecosystem.

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned through these experiences is that giving back is not about how much you know; it is about how much you are willing to share.

Every interaction with students has reminded me that learning is a two-way process. While I may return to the campus to teach or mentor, I always leave with new perspectives, questions, ideas, and renewed curiosity. The enthusiasm of students constantly reminds me why communities matter and why creating opportunities for the next generation is so important.

These experiences have helped me understand that meaningful impact is rarely created alone. Communities grow when people come together, share knowledge, create opportunities, and help one another move forward.

The Alumni Service Award is therefore not just a recognition of what I have contributed; it is also a recognition of everyone who has been part of this journey — the faculty members who supported me, mentors who believed in me, students who inspired me, colleagues and community members who collaborated with me, and friends who encouraged me along the way.

I am deeply grateful to the faculty and management of Sri Eshwar College of Engineering for continuing to welcome me back and giving me opportunities to contribute to the institution that shaped my foundation.

I am also thankful to everyone who trusted me with opportunities to mentor students, build communities, connect professionals, organize events, support hackathons, and create spaces where people can learn and grow together.

Today, as I continue my journey as a Senior Software Engineer, pursue my M.Tech at IIIT Dharwad, and remain actively involved in technology and developer communities, this recognition serves as a reminder of something I strongly believe in:

Your journey becomes more meaningful when you use what you have learned to help someone else move forward.

The Alumni Service Award @ Sri Eshwar College of Engineering is a milestone I will always cherish — not simply because I received an award, but because it represents a continuing connection with the place where my journey began and a commitment to keep giving back wherever I can.

Grateful for where I started.
Proud of how far I’ve come.
Excited to keep giving back.
