Event Summary#
The Tamilnadu Java User Group (TNJUG) January Meetup, conducted on 30 January 2026 at the Excellencia Office, Pinnacle Building, Taramani, Chennai, was a full-day immersive Spring AI Workshop that brought together a vibrant community of passionate developers.
Unlike traditional tech events that focus heavily on theory, this workshop was intentionally designed to be hands-on and outcome-driven. The core objective was clear:

Move beyond discussions and enable developers to practically build, experiment, and understand Spring AI in real-world scenarios.
What made this event truly special was the energy and engagement of the participants. Instead of passive listening, the room was filled with developers actively:
- Writing and testing code
- Debugging real-time issues
- Collaborating with peers
- Asking deep, thought-provoking questions
At one point, the intensity of the session was so high that almost every participant was focused on debugging, turning the workshop into a true developer playgroundโa sign of genuine learning in action.

The workshop covered a comprehensive and advanced set of topics, including:
- Spring AI Fundamentals โ understanding the ecosystem and capabilities
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) โ structuring AI interactions effectively
- Security & Model Security โ addressing real-world concerns in AI applications
- Integration with Spring Boot โ applying AI concepts into scalable production-ready systems
Despite the depth and complexity of the topics, the sessions remained highly interactive and accessible, thanks to the engaging delivery by the speakers.
A huge appreciation to our speakers:
- Udayani
- Tamarai
- Muthukumaran
- Shama
They didnโt just present conceptsโthey translated complex AI ideas into practical, understandable, and usable knowledge, making AI feel less like a buzzword and more like a developer skillset.
The Excellencia Office provided an excellent venue that encouraged collaboration, discussion, and focused learning. The environment played a key role in enabling meaningful interactions throughout the day. Most importantly, the participants made this event a success. They arrived with curiosity, stayed fully engaged, and left with hands-on experience and confidence in applying Spring AI concepts.
This meetup stood as a strong reminder that: ๐ While technologies evolve rapidly, it is communities like TNJUG that empower developers to grow together.
