Event Summary#
The meetup hosted at Oracle was a deeply enriching community experience that brought together developers and technology enthusiasts to explore the evolving intersection of Java, AI, and modern application development. One of the standout sessions focused on the Deep Java Library (DJL), offering both conceptual clarity and hands-on guidance on integrating machine learning capabilities into real-world Java applications. The event also covered how AI can be seamlessly embedded into microservices architectures, highlighting future-ready design patterns for scalable systems. In addition, participants were introduced to productivity-enhancing tools such as Cursor, demonstrating how AI-assisted development can significantly accelerate everyday engineering workflows. Beyond the technical sessions, the meetup fostered meaningful networking and open conversations with industry experts, reinforcing the idea that community events are as much about relationships and shared growth as they are about learning new technologies.

My Learning#

As an active participant, I engaged deeply with the technical sessions, gaining practical insights into DJL, AI-driven microservices, and modern developer tooling that I can directly apply in my professional work. I also had the privilege of showcasing JavaFest on the Oracle premises, promoting the vision of this community-driven conference and encouraging broader participation. Additionally, I delivered a short talk introducing the Tamil Nadu Java User Group (TNJUG), sharing how we actively contribute to developer learning, collaboration, and ecosystem growth. Interacting with Oracle professionals, fellow developers, and community leaders allowed me to exchange ideas, build new connections, and strengthen cross-community collaboration. This meetup was not just a learning opportunity, but a meaningful step in contributing to and growing a vibrant, connected Java community.
