Name: Hari Nikesh R
Profession: Software Engineer — Android developer.
I am currently working at Tiket.com as a Senior Software Engineer with over 3 years of hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance applications. My journey in tech began with a passion for solving complex problems, which naturally led me to explore the world of mobile technology — particularly Android, Kotlin, and Firebase. Over time, this curiosity evolved into a deep commitment to building not just apps, but also knowledge-sharing communities.
Prior to joining Tiket.com, I worked at Quinbay (focusing on the blibli.com ecosystem), where I contributed to critical mobile infrastructure and Android experiences that serve millions of users within a robust omnichannel commerce platform. My work included developing native features, integrating Firebase Cloud services, and optimizing app performance in production-level environments.
Driven by a strong interest in learning and teaching, I began actively engaging with developer communities. This led me to organize and speak at numerous tech events, host workshops, and mentor students and early engineers. I am also deeply involved in AI, exploring how it integrates with Google technologies and enhances problem-solving in real-world scenarios.
Beyond industry events, I regularly participate in college industrial programs — helping students understand new technologies and adopt a problem-solving mindset early in their careers. My goal is to contribute to shaping the next generation’s perspective on applying technology meaningfully and effectively.
Beyond Engineering#
When I’m not building for the mobile ecosystem or leading community meetups, I explore the depths of the ocean. I am a certified Scuba Diver, a pursuit that has taught me as much about focus, discipline, and environmental awareness as it has about the world beneath the waves. Exploring marine life and mastering underwater navigation is my way of staying curious and connected to the world beyond the screen.
As a longtime contributor and community leader, I currently serve as:
- Organizer of the Tamil Nadu Java User Group.
- Co-organizer of the Bangalore Java User Group.
- Student mentor.
- Collaborator with Google Developer Groups on campus at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, engaging students and creating learning opportunities.
In the long run, I aim to continue growing as a technical speaker, published author, and recognized Google Developer Expert in Android, empowering developers across India and beyond through knowledge, mentorship, and community-focused innovation.
